It's been a while since I've blogged... so long that my dear hubby took matters into his own hands (yes, he who laughs at me for maintaining a blog!). Thanks to all those who posted and/or called to say congrats... I appreciate it. To be honest, I would have kept it a secret a lot longer. I don't know why, I'm just like that. In fact, I was almost 15 weeks with Olivia before I told anyone I was pregnant. I'm almost 13 weeks this time... let's just say Tyler couldn't contain himself any longer. Over the weekend he warned me that he was "telling everyone on Monday." And since everyone is wondering, I am due July 26th, but I'm hoping it's more like mid-July! Lol.
I'm feeling pretty well. I only experienced about 2 weeks of morning sickness, but I hesitate to even call it morning sickness because I know some people (yes, Heather, that'd be you) would kill me for even thinking I was sick. I had major gag reflex issues for those two weeks. I could hardly go in the kitchen without gagging... like, gagging really bad. One day I could NOT bring myself to open the fridge because I was sure I'd throw up. But, I could get in the freezer, so I fed Olivia a SmartOnes Entre for lunch (Three Cheese Ziti to be exact). I'm sure that makes me a bad mom, but the thought of throwing up made me gag even more! And those of you that know me know that I NEVER throw up... I hate it and will do anything to avoid it. And, I think Olivia ate bottled peaches for breakfast everyday during those two weeks since I could quickly get them out of the fridge and they didn't seem to trigger any reflexes! Good thing she loves peaches. And one night I begged Tyler to go to Bajio for take out because I couldn't eat anything and that of all things actually sounded good. But, one bite and I couldn't eat it! It tasted so gross. I'm sure it was just me, but ewe... yuck!
Luckily, I never threw up. Now that those 2 weeks have passed all food aversions and cravings have been kept to a minimum (although, I did have Tyler bring me a Corn Dog for dinner one night... ewe, gross, I know). I've been really tired, but that also seems to be passing. Now, if I can just keep the sciatic nerve pain away I might actually enjoy this 2nd trimester!
I've decided to get serious with the coupon shopping. Mostly because Tyler and I went through our expenses for the last year/few months (Tyler is an accountant so all our spending is tracked VERY carefully!), and let's just say our grocery & dining out expenses have been ridiculously high. Seriously, so high that I am embarrassed to even tell anyone. I could buy so much fun stuff with all that money... or, like Tyler would prefer, pay off my car. So, I'm back at it. Olivia and I spent the morning shopping... here is what I got at Albertson's today...
2 Quaker Oats Instant Oatmeal
2 Boxes Life Cereal
6 cans Hunts Diced Tomatoes
2 Egg Beaters
1 Healthy Request Café Steamers Entre
3 Lean Cuisine Entres
1 -4pk Dannon Activia Yogurt
1 -4pk Dannon Active Smoothies
2 Cans black beans
3lbs Sirloin Steak
2lbs bananas
2 -2lb blocks Tillamook Medium Cheddar
I spent $18.93. I had $76.51 in coupons! Pretty good, huh? And yes, I do have meals planned around what I bought and what I already have in my food storage/freezer. Not too shabby. Now, if only I can keep doing it for another 50 weeks!
Anyway, I have a lot to update about, but I feel like I'm so behind I don't know where to start. I'll get some pictures together and post some updates about Olivia. She's growing up so fast... she's like a little kid and no longer my little baby!!
