Flashback Friday...

Friday has become my favorite day of the week. I can spend a good couple of hours just laughing over these old photos. Seriously, I really do laugh out loud and I totally lose track of time. Hours later I realize it's time to pick a few and make my post and then get back to real life.

This week's photos are really funny (at least they are to me). I hope you all enjoy them. Also, I had a few requests for specific photos, but I wasn't able to get my hands on them this week. So, I'll try to get to them next week. Until then, these will have to do. Please, laugh... laugh real hard.

My cousin, Heather, and I used to love to play school. Of course, we were the teachers-- what kindergartener (is that a real word?) doesn't want to be a teacher? And, to be a "real" teacher, you had to have a red pen. But, Heather always got the red pen (see picture for proof). I'm not sure if there wasn't another one or what, but for some reason I remember her always getting it. And do you see the yellow thing Heather is wearing in this picture? Whether it was an actual nightgown or dress, I am still not sure, but we loved to dress up in it when we went to Grandma Wilson's house. Oh, wait... I think Heather is actually wearing the yellow robe that went over the gown, but there was a dress/gown thing that went with it. As for me, I have on my pink dance outfit with some ballet looking skirt thing. The edges were bustled up with mauve and maroon ribbons. I think it had a big maroon band around the waist that tied into a huge bow. At least that is how I remember it. I have no idea what it really was or where it came from, but I do remember dressing up in it frequently. Why we had to dress up to play school I am not so sure. But I am sure it all made sense to us back then. This picture was taken on Thanksgiving of 1987.
This is one of my all time favorite family portraits (I guess they're all my favorite in some way or another). These matching 4th of July outfits were made by my very talented and oh-so-crafty mom. She even added the splattered paint with a toothbrush. If I remember correctly, she even had a matching outfit. Hmmm... maybe my dad did, too. I'll have to double check on that one. Doesn't Kyler have a mischievous look on his face? Yes, he was a trouble maker. And he picked on us (the girls) all the time, even when he was little. Summer 1990.

I LOVE this picture. This is exactly how I remember Wendi. She was always very aware of how she looked, and she was very particular about making sure her clothes and hair were just right. I have many memories of her in pink sponge curlers. This photo was taken at our old house, in Provo in the fall of 1988.

I've got a few of Tyler to add (I think they're the funniest), but my computer is giving me grief... so I'll work on them and hopefully get them posted tonight.

I think it's more McFly than Trump. If you don't know who McFly is (maybe you are too young) go see Back To the Future.

I laugh so hard everytime I see your pictures you post because I remember all of them so well. Yes, heather always got the red pen, and yes me and Wendi were always made to be the students that had to slave away and literally do worksheets that you two would give us to do. That is so funny. I remember it like it was yesterday!

I love the paint splattered look with the bow ties! Ha! I do admit that I had paint splattered jeans that were pegged and I loved them! I love your flashback Fridays!

It is so funny to see a miniature Meagan - you haven't changed a bit (except for maybe your fashion sense).

The splattered paint outfits are so classic! I had a pair of white jeans with many colors on them, and boy did I think I was a hottie when I wore those. Amazing.
