My New Car!!

So, to make a long story short, on our way home from St. George our car was having major issues... AGAIN! I can't very well describe what would happen, but it's almost as if the car stalls. If you are driving on the freeway you lose power, but after about 10 seconds it kicks back in. It did this the entire way home! Seriously, every 20 seconds it would lose power, then jolt back into gear (or at least that is what it felt like). But if you are driving in the city, it stalls every time you try to start out in first or second gear.

This isn't the first time we've had this problem. The last 5 trips home from St. George have been this way (it started last spring). I swear it must be the gas in St. George. The Ken Garff dealership has looked at it on 3 different occasions and says they can't find anything wrong. They advised us to use the highest grade of gasoline, and only fill up at Chevron stations. Well, obviously that didn't solve the problem. And, sorry... but I don't believe that nothing was wrong with the car. I don't know anyone else that has problems like that!

So, when it happened again on our way home today, Tyler had had enough, and he said we were going to Orem to buy a new car as soon as we got home. He said it was too scary to have a car stall in the middle of an intersection when you have a baby in the back seat. And so, that was that! I've been wanting a Honda Pilot for a while, and now I finally had a good excuse to buy one.

I must admit that I am a little sad to see my Jetta go. I really liked it. But, I was so frustrated over this on-going problem that I was willing to move on. Besides, now that I have a 3rd row of seating I can fit my mom & my sisters in my car-- even with the baby's seat! And, I didn't have to give up my heated seats (once you have them you never want to go back!). I hope I don't regret buying an SUV now that gas is nearly $4 per gallon.
