Mmmm... Peas!

Olivia LOVES to eat solids. We started feeding her when she was about 4 months old because she would go crazy when Tyler and I would sit down at the dinner table to eat. She did really well with it from the beginning, but at first I was only feeding her solids once every other day or so, because I figured it was all new to her so she didn't need it that often. Well, she eventually let me know that she wanted food! She would squeal or cry if she saw someone eating and she wasn't getting fed.

I've been making her baby food, and I actually think it's fun. The colors of the food are so much brighter and more vivid than that of jarred baby food. Not to mention that they smell a ton better and actually taste like REAL food. And she loves them! So far we've tried sweet potatoes, peas, apples, bananas and pears. She likes the fruit, but it takes her a bite or two before she loses the furrowed eyebrows and puckered lips. Her favorite so far are the peas. You can't feed them to her fast enough! As soon as you remove the spoon from her mouth she is squealing for another bite-- and she hasn't even swallowed yet! It is so funny. I am now feeding her solids about an hour after her first morning feeding (when I eat breakfast) and when Tyler and I eat dinner. Sometimes she wants to eat solids at lunch, too. If we eat and don't feed her she just stares at our plates and fusses, even if I just filled her up on milk! It's so cute!

Last week we were at my mom's house when she got hungry so we pulled out the peas to make her some food. I didn't have a bib, so we undressed her. As you can see she makes a mess! But, it's the cutest mess I've ever seen. Haley (Kyler's girlfriend) had peas all over her hands by the time we finished, and it was even up Olivia's nose (I was still finding peas up her nose two days later! Gross, I know).

You are such a good mom!! I wanted to make Ellie's baby food, but I was too lazy!! I bet the homemade tastes and smells FAR better than the jarred stuff!!

You are so amazing! Making the food! My friend did that too and her little boy LOVED avocados mashed with pears (just like Ju). I tasted it and it was really good! I love trying all the new food...but you have to deal with that stuff coming out the other end and that is not a pretty sight, right? Ha!

First of all, CONGRATS TO TYLER! That was the biggest and best day of my life!!!! MAJOR MILESTONE, so I am so proud of him. That is neat he wants to get his masters, I don't know if I could ever open up another text book, horrible I know, but I like opening up cook books better :)

What a cutie! I know isn't it the saddest, they want food too. Carson loves food, I have just started giving him little nibbles of mine, just like bread.

On this little piggy...Carson has the green blanket too, isn't it so snuggly, I love it~!
