Another Ear Infection...

We spent Tuesday night at the after hours clinic, again. Olivia wouldn't eat all day. She would try would only get more frustrated and end up screaming. It was heart breaking! I was getting worried because she hadn't been nursing well for the past couple of days, but Tuesday was even worse.

She was eating solids just fine (and I was trying to keep her full on them since she wouldn't drink anything). She was pulling at her ears, but she's been doing that for the last month or so with no other symptoms of an infection... almost like she is just playing with them. So, I wasn't sure if that was really a symptom. Besides that, she hadn't been fussy, she was sleeping better than ever and was even taking good naps. But, then I realized that she had been shaking her head back and forth for a couple days. That is a symptom of an ear infection, but I just thought it was funny at first. She had also been very quiet and calm on Monday-- not fussy, but not as playful as usual.

At 7:00 I gave her some Tylenol, hoping that if it was an ear infection that would at least help her eat a little bit. Sure enough, she was able to eat and then fell asleep. So, I decided I was going to take her in to the after hours clinic, especially because we are leaving for Mexico in a few days.

After they cleaned her ears out (gross, I know) they could finally see that yes, she did have an ear infection. Luckily it wasn't really bad, yet. Poor Olivia screamed for a good 5 minutes as they worked on her ears and then it took another 5 or 10 minutes for her to calm down and breathe normally again. I hate listening to her cry like that.

She seems to be doing a little better, but as of last night I still had to make sure she was dosed up on Tylenol before trying to feed her or else she would get super frustrated. At least she'll be feeling better before we leave for Mexico.

How sad! At least you caught it! I've decided that your blog hates me...it rarely lets me comment so I am sorry about that. Today must be a good day! Have fun in Mexico, and take lots of pictures!

Hey Meagan, I am glad she is okay. She is a doll baby. OKAY... I could not tell who everyone is in the graduation picture. Amanda was graduating? I thought Amanda was the younger girl, is that another little sister I am forgetting? I think your Mom did have another baby now that I say that, anyways, Im lost, explain! Is wendy the one in the front? Everyone looks so different. It's nuts.

Have fun in Mexico!!!

Hey Meagan I am pretty sure I noticed that you had a chico car seat. Josh told me that chico has a recall out and Babies R Us are accepting returns. Our friends had a chico stroller and car seat and returned it and got a refund for 350 dollars. (And it was more than a year old) I just wanted to let you know so you could check it out and get a refund if yours is one of them. Hope Olivia got over her ear infection and I hope you enjoy yourselves in Mexico. I am so jealous!!
