He Calls It Exercise, I Call It Golf

Last year I told Tyler that he could go golfing all he wanted IF he walked the course. Ya know, the good ol' fashioned way. Hey, it saves a couple bucks. But, he never took me up on it. I guess he figured that since we didn't have any kids he could go whenever he wanted AND get a cart, so why would he want to walk?

So, this year I told him the same thing, not expecting him to actually go for it. But, now that we have a baby I think he feels guilty leaving me while he goes out and plays. Well, he finally took me up on the offer tonight and actually walked the course. When he came home I asked, "So, how was it?" He answered, "Oh, it felt so good to get some exercise." HA! Exercise? It felt good to exercise? How did it feel to play golf? Isn't that REALLY what you went for? Not exercise. But, it's a good excuse to go golfing, right?

As we lounge around tonight, just relaxing and watching some TiVo'd "Everybody Loves Raymond" reruns, Tyler is sprawled out on the living room floor. He says that "exercise" was too much for him and he can already feel his muscles getting sore. Ha ha ha.

Tyler wants me to add that my dad was so tired after walking the course that he (Tyler) had to carry my dad's clubs inside the house for him! Dad, Tyler will probably never let you live that down-- you know that right?

So, here is Tyler... all worn out from his long afternoon of "exercise."

What is it with Accountants and golf? LOL!
I think I have had this exact conversation with Chad. Golf does not equal exercise. I guess it's a good thing that the courses near our house are fairly hilly otherwise I wouldn't feel bad for him at all.

Golf=Exercise! Proof:

This article from HARVARD also states in very very very small print (probably unseen to the female eyes) it says "And after each golf game, a massage from your spouse is required in order to obtain maximum weight loss." It's TRUE!!!
So Meagan, according to a very prestigious college article, I must have a massage after my golf game. ;-)

Aw...poor baby!!

When Dan did his fitness class at UVSC, he chose golfing as a form of excercise....he would have had walk the course to have it be considered "exercise", and even then it didn't burn that many calories...I guess I should have given him a massage, or maybe you and Dan could give each other massages, Tyler!! ;)

Ha! Too funny. Peter molded into our couch after playing badminton on Sunday for a couple of hours. He said it was too much for him and his old body. I'm frightened that he thinks 29 is old.

tyler's comment sounds like me trying to convince my dear hubby of a backrub! Only when I am prego do i get unlimited backrubs! Good luck with your battle of golf=excersize!!! :)

I hear that ALL THE TIME!!! But I do have to admit that carrying those heavy bags 9 or 18 holes would be a form of exercise...I still don't let Mat get away with using that as an excuse! :)

That is awesome! And good job Tyler for the proof! ;)

Cam has never been a golfer ( I know your thinking lucky...) Well no.That is the ONLY thing the man doesn't know how to do. Does Tyler hunt? There is a lot of wasted time and money!

No, Tyler doesn't hunt... and I am SO glad. I would take golfing over hunting any day! Lol. My dad hunts, and UGH. I have memories of elk hanging in our garage. And yes, hunting is far more expensive!

Tyler is always really good about not letting golf interfere with family time, so I don't mind him going. Besides, that means I can go shopping!
