Flashback Friday... uh, I mean, Monday

So, I haven't gotten around to posting any old photos for quite a while and Tyler's been bugging me about it. He decided tonight was the night... even though it isn't Friday. And, it will no longer be called "Flashback Friday" because Tyler seems to think that it is called "Freaky Friday." He can't ever remember the correct title. I suppose "Freaky Friday" is a bit more fitting for many of the pictures.

I've been promising my family that I would post these pictures for quite sometime now. I'm sorry it's taken so long, but it was worth the wait, right?

Growing up, we (me, my sister and cousins) performed for our families at just about every family gathering. We would make up dance routines, show off what we had learned in gymnastics or at school, and sometimes we would even put on little plays. Yes, we were quite the little show-offs. Our grandparents, aunts, uncles and parents were always so enthusiastic and made a great audience. I am sure our performances were boring and irritating, to say the least, but they never acted annoyed-- perhaps that is because they were too busy laughing at us (inside, of course... they never would have let on that we were quite ridiculous).

This is me, Wendi, and Brittany performing some Christmas number in our infamous, matching sweaters. Amanda is trying to join in (yes, she's always been a performer, too).
Once again, here is another Christmas performance. We had a Rudolph song that was always a favorite because we had a clown nose that we used for Rudolph. Brittany was always Rudolph. I remember thinking she was good at it. Lol. And yes, that is me in the hot pink cheetah print pants. And yes, I have a cheetah nose drawn on my face. Don't ask. I don't know what I thought that had to do with anything. Perhaps it was supposed to be another reindeer? But, I do know that I LOVED that hot pink outfit. It was Heather's, and she always let me wear it when we were at her house. Oh, I thought I was so cool.

Here is another shot of that same performance. Tyler is laughing as I write this. He's making fun of my outfit (the sagging crotch of my pants) and my aunt Julie in the background.

Here is another performance. If I remember correctly, this dance was to one of Paula Abdul's songs. She was our favorite. Check out my blue unitard. And why am I wearing boots with it? Don't ask me. Don't we all look like a bunch of ragamuffins? Left to right: Emily, Amanda (in front), Paige, Brittany, me, Marshal, Wendi, Marni (family friend) and Heather.

this so reminds me of me and my sisters, although we didn't have quite the fancy outfits like you did! ;) My older sister was on dance company etc so when we were little they were always making up preform. Although, i never got the coordination down for dancing. That's funny that you don't remember the notes. I swear in middle school and jr. high i probably wrote enough notes for him to publish a book out of them! Every day i would wait to see him after my history class just so i could give him a note! I am never telling my kids!!! ;) I know it doesn't matter now, it is funny how trivial we thought things were then. I just still can't believe how "in love" i thought i was with him! Too funny! We all survive though.

I'm digging the royal blue spandex. I usually opted for the pink.
