5 Years...

Tyler and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on Friday, the 26th. It's hard to believe it has already been 5 years, but at the same time, I feel like we've been married forever. I'll spare you all the details, reasons why I love him and why I think we have the best relationship ever, but I will tell you this...

I don't remember much (or anything) about what the sealer said to us when we got married. I once asked Tyler if he remembered and he said that it was about "selfishness." While I think that most of the sealer's advice must have been directed at me, somehow Tyler is the only one that remembers it.

Tyler is the most selfless person I know. He never says anything mean or hurtful. If he apologizes for something, I know positively that he will NEVER do it again. Because his apologies are always completely sincere, we never argue about the same thing twice. He hates contention and will do anything to avoid it, and because of that we never fight, and rarely even argue (seriously, I could count all of our arguments on one hand). Tyler brings out the best in me. I can't fight with him. I hate to argue with him, and most importantly, I can't be mad at him. He is quick to forgive and even quicker to forget. To me, he is the perfect example of selflessness.

While there are many other great things about our marriage, I wanted to document this one because, to me, it is what makes us so happy together. I love that our relationship is peaceful, loving, and unselfish.

We've made a tradition of spending our anniversary in Park City, however we decided it was easier to stay home with a baby. She never sleeps well at hotels, and that doesn't make for a very restful vacation! My dad couldn't believe that we didn't do anything and when I told him why he said, "I bet you never imagined yourself saying that, did you?" It's true. I never thought I'd let kids cramp my style, but in all honestly, I love Olivia to pieces and don't mind it one bit. We did go out to dinner without the baby, and it was weird to think that we spent the first 4 years of our marriage without her. Just like I can hardly remember what life was like when I wasn't married to Tyler, I can hardly remember what life was like without Olivia!

We didn't get any pictures, though (I know, lame). So, imagine a picture of Tyler and me, eating a nice Italian dinner (Ottavio's) and being completely happy.

So cute. What a great husband. I have never met him, I need to and soon, but he sounds pretty great and you are too so what a perfect match.

I know Kids are the best. you should have had your parents babysit so you could still go to park city! FUN!

Holy crap! 5 years! WOW time flies :) Thats great! Yeah I never thought I would let children cramp my style either. We had our first anniversary and did nothing!! Because I was 9 months pregnant and couldn't imagine doing anything but laying on the couch puking my guts out! But it really is all worth it, and I would take her anywhere too! Congrats! Man your so old :)
