I have a new obsession. It's my PANINI GRILL. I absolutely love it. It's true. Ever since I bought this grill, I eat a panini sandwich nearly every day for lunch, and sometimes they're so good I have to make them again for dinner.
You see, even a regular ol' grilled cheese sandwhich is 100% better when made on this panini press. It doesn't burn the bread, but toasts it just right... and still manages to melt all the cheese. Served with tomato soup, YUM!
If you like tuna sandwiches, I highly suggest trying one grilled on this press. It heats up the tuna and makes it SO delicious.
But, I have a new favorite panini. I bet your are dying to know what it is, right? Well, start with some pesto. Spread it on a little on a piece of bread. You can use fancy Italian breads, but I usually use what ever is in my cupboard. Add some turkey. My favorite is the sun dried tomato turkey, which can be found at Macey's. A few sun dried tomatoes (not packed in oil) and some cheese... YUM. I personally love it with Havarti cheese or feta. Stick it on the grill for a few minutes, and ta-dah!
The best part about my panini press is that the plates are dishwasher safe. Unlike that dumb George Foreman, I just pop off the plates and stick 'em in the dish washer. It's great. Oh, and it does have extra plates so it can be used as a griddle, not just a grill. Great for pancakes.
n. pl. pa·ni·ni (-nē)
An Italian sandwich made usually with vegetables, cheese, and grilled or cured meat

Meagan, I LOVE IT! Sounds delicious. I am so burned out on freezer foods ( i.e chimichungas, taquitos, whatever! )i can't gag them down anymore. This sounds terrific! And oh yes... I have the BIG dumb george foreman. I don't think i have used it in forever. The ingredients sound hard though. I actually have pesto, on hand. Never used it, but I have it. What else can you do with it? p.s. I love grilled cheese and tomato soup too.
oh sorry...the ingredients sound hard on your really yummy one you were talking about.
Wow Meagan! You are a chef! That last one sounds wonderful! I had a George Foreman but gave it away because I didn't like it, like you and Lori! I will have to get one!
We have that exact same grill and you're right, it's so freakin' nice. I like to throw extra junk on my pizza and grill it too. You can pretty much do anything on it...except cold cereal, that didn't work out very well.
oooh. I want a panini grill...where do you get em?
