Independence Day!

I love holidays. I love all the celebrations and activities that go along with them, but I really love them because Tyler gets the day off work. I get him all to myself! Well, Olivia and I get to share him, but you know what I mean. We didn't have any big plans this year. We usually go to the Stadium of Fire, but we decided that it wouldn't be much fun with a 7-month old; it's so loud--between the singers, emcees, and then the hoopla of the fireworks... yeah, not such a great idea.

Tyler made crepes with fresh fruit for breakfast this morning... mmmm. Don't I have a great husband? Then, as always, we headed in to shop at all the little booths that they have set up downtown. It was super hot and way too crowded, but we had a good time. We ate lunch at La Dolce Vita, one of our favorite Italian restaurants (and they're one of the only places open on the 4th). Wendi and I spent the afternoon baking while Olivia slept (well, she slept 30 minutes). And since my parents & Maddie were at the Stadium of Fire, we went with Gub & Wendi to GoodWood for dinner. Hmmm, as I read that I just realized how many of my posts are about food. Yeah, we obviously like food.

Richard, my father-in-law, loves the American flag and anything patriotic. At Tyler's graduation breakfast he found this cute outfit for Olivia and bought it for her. I thought it was so cute and I've been waiting for the 4th of July so she could wear it. And Haley painted Olivia's toenails red to match the outfit. She looked so cute. I was worried that she'd be onery today since she had her vaccinations yesterday, but she did really well. She is such a good baby... I am SO LUCKY!

Sorry for the picture overload, but I couldn't narrow it down...

Mmmm... she loves her toes!

Isn't this the happiest face? I love seeing her smile like this.
We were laughing because she was actually smiling for the camera. I am sure it was just a coincidence, but it seemed like she was doing it on purpose! We'd hold the camera up and she'd just smile right at it! It was so funny!
This is one of the ways that Olivia waves, "hi." She sticks her fist up in the air and tightens all the muscles in her face and neck. She even grits her teeth (all four of them, lol). I don't know where she got it, but we laugh every time she does it. Sometimes she opens her hand and waves her arm, but lately it is mostly this super-hero wave.

Olivia is the prettiest baby ever!! I'm even willing to say she was prettier than my own kid (I don't think I've ever claimed to be biased...)!!
